Lil Wayne has also been dropping off a few hints directed toward the development of another famous series of his along the way.

For as long as he’s been hinting at Tha Carter’s newest edition, so has he touched on Dedication 6, a notion that we can trace back to February of 2015 when DJ Drama first posted a photo of the two men alongside Mack Maine on Instagram following Wayne’s Sorry For The Wait 2 release, captioning the photograph “Sorry For The Wait 2. Carter V. Dedication 6.”

“I started no longer wanting Drama to put out only songs I’m doing my own little remixes to,” said Lil Wayne. “I started giving him original music. I started approaching mixtapes as to actually getting a little more recognition than albums. So start paying attention to what you’re doing and how you’re doing it on there, and still doing the same thing. That’s why when you ask me what’s my favorite Dedication, I’m always going to say the last one because I’m trying to get only better than the last shit.”

Now, the most recent development comes as Lil Wayne recently took to Instagram to post a photo of himself standing next to producer Scott Storch, with the caption reading, “Who ready 4 dat D6??? drop YM sh!t !!”

Wayne is currently suing fromer mentor and collaborator Birdman to the tune of $51 million after claiming that he is owed money for Tha Carter V. We’ve specualted that this legal spat and fall out between the two is likely the root of why it’s taken so long to hear the finished product of Tha Carter V. We’re not quite sure what it means for Dedication 6, but with Wayne continually teasing these new drops let’s hope that we finally get one, and soon.
